Location and Driving Directions
Located on a quiet, tree-lined street, the Everett Street Guesthouse is located near the Laurelhurst neighborhood, just 3 blocks north of Burnside Ave., between NE 22nd and NE 24th Ave. It is easily accessible to I-5 Interstate and Hwy 84, and only a 15 minute drive from the airport. The inn is walking distance to NE 28th Ave. which has some wonderful restaurants as well as shops, cafes, and a movie theater. Public transportation is a short 3 block walk and it's only a 10-15 minutes to downtown. Try using our excellent transportation system instead of renting a car. Go to www.trimet.org to check out how easy it is to get around. Laurelhurst Park is about a 1/2 mile away and is a beautiful, large park with duck pond and lots of areas to run, stroll, people watch, play tennis or just relax. Mt. Tabor park is a short drive away, and has lots of hiking trails and magnificent views of the city. And of course Forest Park, the largest urban park in the country, is about a 15 minute drive with a myriad of hiking trails. There's a new Trader Joe's just a few miles away, Whole Food Market is walking distance, and there's a QFC grocery that's open 24 hours a short drive or bus trip away.
The "Kerns" neighborhood, where the inn is located, was featured in Sunset Magazine's March 2018 issue, listing only a fraction of what there is to enjoy in and and around the area. Restaurants on NE/SE 28th Ave., a mere 3 block walk, ranges from Cuban to Thai to New Orleans to Italian. The Laurelhurst Theater is $4.00 ($3.00 for Seniors) and has food/drink in the theater.

Directions: By Taxi LYFT or UBER: A taxi takes about 15 minutes from the airport to the inn. Ask your driver when you get in, to go by way of 82nd Ave. to Sandy Blvd., and NOT the freeway, as this is 5 minutes longer and costs $5.00 more. The fare from the airport should be about $24.00--26.00. Note: It will be a bit less going back to the airport. If you use Lyft or Uber (you'll need to download their app), it's about $16.00-$18.00.
For Public Transportation: Trimet is about $2.50 each way, requires a transfer and takes about 40 minutes. You can buy a day pass on the bus, or you can purchase weekly passes at various locations around town, just ask. Senior or "honored citizen" fare is only $1.25 each way. For directions from the airport go to www.trimet.org or use google maps.
Car Rentals: For those who may wish to use public transportation for most of their trip, but just rent a car for a day trip or two, there's an Enterprise Rental 3 blocks from the Inn. The phone number is 503-963-1795, the discount number is: XZ46SB1. It is less expensive to rent at the Enterprise 3 blocks from my inn on NE Sandy Blvd. than at the airport.
