Located on a quiet, tree-lined street, the Everett Street Guesthouse is located near the Laurelhurst neighborhood, just 3 blocks north of Burnside Ave., between NE 22nd and NE 24th Ave. It is easily accessible to I-5 Interstate and Hwy 84, and only a 15 minute drive from the airport. The inn is walking distance to NE 28th Ave. which has some wonderful restaurants as well as shops, cafes, and a movie theater. Public transportation is a short 3 block walk and it's only a 6 minute drive to downtown.  Try using our excellent transportation system instead of renting a car.  Go to www.trimet.org to check out how easy it is to get around.  Laurelhurst Park is about a 1/2 mile away and is a beautiful, large park with duck pond and lots of areas to run, stroll, people watch, play tennis or just relax.  Mt. Tabor park is a short drive away, and has lots of hiking trails and magnificent views of the city.  And of course Forest Park, the largest urban park in the country, is about a 15 minute drive with a myriad of hiking trails.  There's a new Trader Joe's just a few miles away, Whole Food Market is walking distance, and there's QFC grocery that's open 24 hours.

Driving Directions: You can take a 15 minute taxi drive (about $20.00 each way) to the Inn or rent a car at the airport or take Trimet (see below) which is about $2.25 each way, requires a transfer and takes about 40 minutes. For those who may wish to use public transportation for most of their trip but just rent a car for a day trip or two, there's an Enterprise Car Rental walking distance from the inn at NE 28th and Sandy Blvd. Their rates are generally pretty reasonable. If you're renting a car at the airport, drive time is about 15 minutes. (Note: if taking a cab, ask the driver to go by way of 82nd Ave. to Sandy Blvd, to NE 20th to NE Everett--it's $5.00 less than on the freeway.) Driving Directions from PDX: Exit the airport, heading East and take a right at the first light which is NE 82nd Ave. for 2.1 miles to Sandy Blvd. Turn right on NE Sandy and travel approx. 3 1/2 miles to NE 24th Ave.  Turn left on NE 24th Ave. to NE Everett St. Turn right on NE Everett to 2306 NE Everett St. on the left.  Note: There is no sign, just large numbers in the front of my house. For driving directions from I-5 North or South, go to googlemaps.com and put in your end destination as 2306 NE Everett St., Portland, OR. 97232   Note:  Mapquest has you exiting Exit 300 and there is no exit 300-so take exit 299.
